A Major is among those killed when an Arakan Army artillery shell hit a group that was taking commemorative photos inside the Kyaukphyu Township's Minpwin Radar Station compound.
It has been learned that among those killed by a direct hit from a heavy weapon fired by the Arakan Army while they were taking commemorative photos inside the Minpwin Radar Station compound in Kyaukphyu Township is a Major.
According to a post on the social media page of Myanmar Express, among those killed when a heavy weapon shell fired by the Arakan Army hit a group of State Administration Council (SAC) troops who were gathering to take a group commemorative photo at the Minpwin weather radar station in Minpwin Village, Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State, at around 10:30 AM on November 14, was Major Ko Ko Zaw.

The officer has been identified as Major Ko Ko Zaw (Army No. 58547) from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 542, based in Kyaukphyu, and he was from Intake 53 of the Defence Services Academy (DSA).
Although pro-SAC elements and military lobbyists dismissed reports of the incident as fake news, it has been found that donations were made by family members in memory of the deceased.
In this incident, approximately 10 SAC soldiers were killed and over 20 were injured, with Major Ko Ko Zaw among the fatalities.
On November 14, SAC forces launched a large-scale assault to retake the radar station, which is held by the Arakan Army. The Arakan Army temporarily retreated. While the SAC troops were occupying the site and preparing to take propaganda photos to portray it as a military victory, the Arakan Army fired heavy weapons, attacking them.
