ARSA Terrorist Group Attacks Civilians with Mine in Maungdaw, One Civilian Injured

In Maungdaw Township, between Lipa Ywa Haung and Thaya Kon villages, three civilians traveling were attacked by the extremist Islamic terrorist group ARSA with a mine explosion on October 5, around 9:30 AM, resulting in one civilian being injured, according to the victims of the attack.
The injured individual is Ko Min Tun Aung (28 years old) from Aung Thaya village in Maungdaw Township. Around 9:30 AM on that day, U Naing Naing Kyaw (33 years old), Ko Arkar Aung (24 years old), and Ko Min Tun Aung (28 years old) were traveling by motorcycle, transporting goods from Taung Pyo to Aung Thaya village. When they reached the area between Lipa Ywa Haung and Thaya Kon villages, the ARSA terrorist group detonated a hidden mine, targeting them, according to reports.
Following the explosion, the ARSA group fled into the forest and fired shots at the three individuals with rifles. The three managed to abandon their motorcycle and escape toward Zee Pin Chaung Ywa Haung, evading capture. However, Ko Min Tun Aung sustained an injury to the right side of his forehead, as reported.

Currently, Arakan Army (AA) forces are reportedly pursuing and clearing out the ARSA terrorist group in the area.
The extremist Islamic terrorist groups ARSA and RSO, armed with weapons, pose a threat to the lives, properties, and livelihoods of innocent Arakanese people. For safety, people in border areas are urged to avoid traveling alone or in small groups in remote areas, forests, or mountains as much as possible.
For essential travel, including health-related matters, individuals are strongly encouraged to inform the nearest Arakan People’s Revolutionary Government administrative and security forces and to travel only after coordinating with them, as advised by the Arakan Army for security reasons.
According to records, between November 2023 and September 2025, 36 individuals were arrested, 6 were injured, and 24 were taken into custody by ARSA terrorists. All victims are civilians from various communities, including Arakanese, Muslims, Mro, Khami, Daingnet, and others.
