The Arakan Army (AA) and its allied forces seized 3.2 million WY psychotropic stimulant tablets in Padaung Township, Pyay District. The narcotics had reportedly bypassed several military junta inspection checkpoints through bribery.

On the afternoon of May 1, 2026, while conducting regional security operations near Ushitpin town, the Arakan Army (AA) and allied forces inspected a suspicious hut and uncovered the 3.2 million WY psychotropic pills along with two suspects.

The detained suspects have been identified as 40-year-old Aung La Kyaw, a resident of Pyi Taw Thar Ward in Ushitpin town, and 41-year-old Aung Kyaw Moe, a resident of Bo Ta Htaung Ward in Pyay town. They were found in possession of the WY tablets bearing the "RS" horse logo.

According to preliminary investigations, the owners of the seized narcotics are U Moe Kyaw Htwe from Shwepyitha Township, Yangon Region, and U Yan Naing from Insein Township, who are reportedly connected to the military junta. Furthermore, confessions revealed that the shipments were permitted to pass through junta-controlled checkpoints across Pyay District without undergoing any inspections.

Regarding this case, the Department of Law Enforcement and Public Security (DLAP) of the Arakan People's Revolutionary Government officially filed charges on May 15, 2026, under Sections 19(a)/21 and Procedure 512 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

Authorities have confiscated the evidence and are continuing investigations to uncover the remaining network of perpetrators, establishing a solid legal case to proceed in accordance with judicial recommendations.

Padaung Township is currently one of the operational areas of the Arakan Army (AA), where the organization collaborates with local communities to enforce the rule of law and conduct anti-narcotics operations.

In addition, the Arakan Army (AA) stated that it operates under a strict policy within its active territories declaring "Zero tolerance for online scams (Kyasphat)" and "No safe haven for scam syndicates," vowing to rigorously combat both illicit narcotics and online gambling operations.
