Arakan Army (AA) and Kokang Troops (MNDAA) Jointly Install Solar Streetlights in Mong Yu (105-Mile)

The Arakan Army (AA) and the Kokang troops (MNDAA) have installed solar streetlights along the main urban roads in Mong Yu (105-Mile), located in the Brotherhood Alliance administrative zone of Muse Township, Northern Shan State.

A total of 188 solar streetlights, valued at over 28 million Myanmar Kyats (280 lakh MMK), have been under installation since September 28 along the road stretching from the entrance of Mong Yu (105-Mile) to the Kyin San Kyawt junction. The installation is being carried out in cooperation with the local electricity department.

According to a responsible official, the previously installed solar streetlights from earlier years were dismantled due to weak illumination and are currently being replaced with new, larger-capacity solar streetlights.

Rather than being discarded, the older solar lights that are no longer suitable for main street lighting will be reinstalled in community areas where needed.
