The terrorist military commission has announced that it will hold the Phase 3 election on January 25, 2026, in 63 townships, as stated by the Election Commission on December 25.
The aforementioned townships include: 5 in Kachin State, 2 in Kayin State, 2 in Sagaing Region, 3 in Tanintharyi Region, 8 in Bago Region, 8 in Mandalay Region, 9 in Shan State, 9 in Ayeyarwady Region, and 17 in Yangon Region.
It has been learned that the general election to be held by the military council will be divided into three phases: Phase 1 in 102 townships (December 28, 2025), Phase 2 in 100 townships (January 11, 2026), and Phase 3 in 63 townships (January 25, 2026).
Among the townships previously announced as eligible for voting, four controlled by the Arakan Army (AA)—namely Ann, Taungup, Thandwe, and Gwa—have been excluded from the December 25 announcement due to the current situation making it impossible to hold elections there.
