Boat Carrying Over 30 ARSA Terrorists Attempting to Infiltrate Arakan State for Terrorist Acts Sinks; 18 Arrested by BGB

A boat carrying over 30 terrorists from ARSA, an Islamic extremist militant group attempting to enter Arakan State from refugee camps in Bangladesh to commit acts of terrorism, sank in the sea off the coast of Shah Porir Dwip on the morning of yesterday, July 31.

The boat carrying more than 30 ARSA terrorists sank off the coast of Shah Porir Dwip near Teknaf, Bangladesh, while attempting to enter Arakan State. Local Bangladeshi fishermen spotted 18 terrorists floating in the sea, after which the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested them and transferred them to the police station.

Additionally, 13 ARSA terrorists involved in the boat sinking remain missing.

According to reports in Bangladeshi media, ARSA terrorists previously collaborated with the military junta in the Buthidaung and Maungdaw border areas to attack the Arakan Army (AA). They subsequently fled into Bangladesh due to counter-operations and clearance actions by the Arakan Army (AA).

Mohammad Saiful Islam, the officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station in Bangladesh, stated that investigations and interrogations are underway regarding the ARSA terrorists handed over by the BGB.

It has been confirmed that those rescued by fishermen following the sinking of the ARSA terrorist group's boat were exclusively adult males, with no women or children among them.
